Welcome to our County-Scale Map Ordering Page:

County-Scale maps are high resolution maps covering a single county. These maps are created using high resolution satellite data from various sources including the USGS. We then create a placefile which will allow you to view the map in GRLEVELX using the placefile manager. This will allow you to have a detailed, high resolution map background when zooming into county level.

Order your county-scale map and you will receive:

1 4000 pixel resolution map
1 2000 pixel resolution map
Placefiles to view the maps in GRLEVELX

Here are a few examples:

Sample 1: The first example shows the extent of the county-scale maps. Since counties vary greatly in size, all of the maps will cover basically the same amount of area. For large counties, I will create multiple maps and for smaller counties, the map will overlap the surrounding counties.

At this time, the county-scale maps will utilize Natural Color with Bathymetry. Additional styles will be added in the future depending on interest and demand.

You can test this map in GRLEVELX by downloading the following file: http://www.myweatherstations.com/OH-Cuyahoga-NC2.zip. This file contains a 2000 pixel wide map of Cuyahoga County, OH and a Placefile. Download these files to c:\ and load the txt file into the placefile manager in GRLEVELX. Then zoom in and watch the map appear.

Once your order has been completed, we will email you a zip file containing your Map Files as well as the placefiles. The placefiles will allow you to display the maps in GRLEVELX.

Counties will be completed in the order requests are received. Right now, maps are completed in about 1-2 business days. If there is going to be any sort of delay in processing your order, we will contact you. If you are ordering multiple counties, make sure you adjust the quantity on the PayPal order page to match the number of counties you are ordering.

Due to differences in satellite imagery, some variations in color or resolution may be present on the maps. I will attempt to keep the maps as uniform as possible.
